Maçarico Lake is a peaceful blackwater tributary of the Amazon basin, known for its calm waters, winding channels and flooded forests – ideal habitats for a rich diversity of wildlife, including birds, fish, river turtles and pink river dolphins.

The lodge is surrounded by a small riverside community, where local residents live and work along the river: fishing, small-scale farming and getting around by boat. Visitors experience not only the beauty of the Amazon landscapes, but also the rhythm and culture of life along the river.

On arrival, guests are introduced to iNaturalist, the world's leading citizen science platform, and are invited to photograph and record their wildlife sightings, contributing to biodiversity research and conservation.

What to bring: Light t-shirts (synthetic and cotton), long-sleeved shirts, light long pants (zip-off are ideal), shorts, bathing suit, waterproof hiking boots or sturdy shoes, socks, sandals or flip-flops, rain jacket, sun hat, flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries, day backpack, reusable water bottle, sunscreen (SPF 30 minimum), insect repellent and a small personal first aid kit.
